Mini 2YD

Height

Length
4ft 0”
Width
6ft 0”
Suitable for:
A mini 2 yard skip is ideal for small clear-outs where space is tight – think bathroom rip-outs, garden tidy-ups, or a few bulky items you can’t fit in the bin. It typically holds up to around 30 bin bags of waste (depending on how it’s packed).
Best for driveways and short access areas – if it needs to go on the road you may need a permit. Suitable for general waste, light DIY waste, wood and packaging. Not suitable for plasterboard, chemicals, electricals or asbestos – those need separate arrangements.
Midi 4YD
Capacity
4 CU/YD
Height
2ft 6”
Length
8ft 0”
Width
6ft 0”
Suitable for:
A 4 yard midi skip is a great “weekend job” size – garage clearance, small kitchen or bathroom work, or mixed household waste. It usually fits up to around 40 bin bags. Access is straightforward on a driveway, but check width and turning space for delivery – street placement may require a permit.
Suitable for general waste, garden waste, timber and mixed light building waste. If you’re disposing of heavy rubble, keep it sensible (weight adds up fast) and avoid restricted items like plasterboard, appliances, liquids and hazardous waste.
Builder 8YD
Capacity
8 CU/YD
Height
4ft 0”
Length
11ft 0”
Width
5ft 6”
Suitable for:
The 8 yard builder skip is the go-to for renovations and building work – stripping out rooms, blockwork, soil and rubble, or larger house clearances. Expect up to around 80 bin bags in volume terms, but heavy materials reach weight limits quickly. This size typically needs a clear driveway or firm ground with good access – and street placement may need a permit.
Suitable for mixed construction waste, hardcore, rubble, timber and general waste. Keep plasterboard separate (if required) and avoid hazardous waste, electricals, fridges and chemicals.
8YD Lifting Skip
Capacity
8 CU/YD
Height
4ft 0”
Length
11ft 0”
Width
5ft 6”
Suitable for:
An 8 yard lifting skip offers builder-skip capacity with lifting points for crane placement – ideal for sites with restricted access, higher levels, or where a standard drop-off isn’t practical. It holds around 80 bin bags by volume, with the same weight considerations for rubble and hardcore. You’ll need clear lifting access and safe positioning on-site.
Suitable for construction waste, mixed demolition waste, timber and general waste. Not suitable for loose hazardous materials, chemicals, electricals or plasterboard unless arranged separately. If you’re unsure, the safest route is to confirm the waste type before delivery.
12YD Enclosed
Capacity
12 CU/YD
Height
6ft 5”
Length
11ft 8”
Width
5ft 5”
Suitable for:
A 12 yard enclosed skip is best when you need extra volume and security – shop refits, site clearances, or bulky but lighter waste that you want contained. As a guide, it’s around 100–120 bin bags depending on how it’s loaded. You’ll need good access and enough space for delivery and collection. Suitable for light mixed waste, packaging, timber and bulky items. Avoid heavy rubble in large quantities unless advised, and keep restricted items (plasterboard, hazardous waste, electricals) separate. Enclosed skips are also useful where windblown litter is a concern.
16YD Skip
Capacity
16 CU/YD
Height
7ft 0”
Length
12ft 0”
Width
6ft 0”
Suitable for:
A 16 yard skip suits larger clearances where waste is bulky rather than dense – household clearance, timber, light construction waste and mixed site waste. Expect roughly 140–160 bin bags depending on compaction. Because of its size, access matters – a clear driveway or site area is ideal, and street placement may require a permit. Suitable for general waste, green waste, timber and mixed light waste. Avoid overloading with heavy rubble or soil unless you’ve confirmed it’s acceptable. As with all skips, keep plasterboard, hazardous items and asbestos out unless separately arranged.
12YD Asbestos
Capacity
12 CU/YD
Height
6ft 5”
Length
11ft 8”
Width
5ft 5”
Suitable for:
This specialist asbestos skip is for safe asbestos disposal only and must be used in line with current handling requirements. It’s typically chosen for garage roof sheets, soffits, or other asbestos-containing materials where you need sealed, compliant removal. Capacity varies by how materials are packaged, but the key point is correct containment rather than “bin bag” volume.
Access should allow safe loading and collection without spreading dust or debris. Only suitable for asbestos waste prepared as instructed – do not mix with general waste, plasterboard, electricals or liquids. If you’re unsure what you have, contact the team before booking
15YD Roll on Roll Off
Capacity
15 CU/YD
Height
4ft 6”
Length
19ft 0”
Width
8ft 0”
Suitable for:
A 15 yard roll on roll off (RoRo) skip is ideal for medium-to-large site clearances, refurbishments and ongoing construction work. It’s a strong option when a standard builder skip won’t be enough, but you don’t need the footprint of a 40 yard container. You’ll need firm, level ground and clear access for delivery and collection.
Suitable for bulky mixed site waste and larger clear-out loads (depending on what’s agreed). If your waste is heavy (rubble, soil, concrete), check weight limits and waste type before booking.
40YD Roll On Roll Off
Capacity
40 CU/YD
Height
9ft 0”
Length
19ft 0”
Width
9ft 0”
Suitable for:
A 40 yard RoRo is designed for high-volume waste – demolition, major strip-outs, commercial clearances and large projects generating a lot of lighter material. It’s best when you need maximum capacity and have space on-site for a larger container and safe vehicle access.
Suitable for bulky waste, packaging, timber and mixed site waste (depending on what’s agreed). Not ideal for tight residential streets. If heavy waste is involved, confirm the acceptable waste type and any weight limits before ordering.

Skip Hire Frequently Asked Questions
How much does skip hire cost in Cheshire?
Skip hire prices start from £138.73 + VAT for our Area 1 postcodes, with the exact price depending on the skip size, your postcode, whether a permit is needed and the type of waste. Use our quick quote tool with your postcode for a clear price by area, and confirmation of next-day availability where applicable.
What skip sizes do you offer?
We offer the full range across Cheshire and the North West: mini (2 yard, around 30 bin bags), midi (4 yard, around 40), 8 yard builder, 8 yard lifting (for crane placement), 12 yard enclosed, 16 yard, 12 yard asbestos (specialist), 15 yard roll on roll off (RoRo), and 40 yard RoRo for major site clearances. Pick the size by waste volume and access available, not just job type.
What can I put in a skip?
Most general waste, garden waste, building waste, wood, plastic and packaging can go in a general skip. Items that cannot go in – or need a separate skip – include upholstered furniture, mattresses (extra charge), asbestos (specialist skip required), plasterboard (separate skip), chemicals, electricals such as fridges and freezers, and batteries or e-cigarettes. If you’re unsure, check with us before delivery to avoid extra charges or refused collection.
Do I need a skip permit?
You need a skip permit if the skip is placed on a public road or pavement – not if it’s on private land such as a driveway. Councils set their own fees and notice periods. Examples (ex. VAT): Cheshire East £45 with 2 days’ notice, Cheshire West £124.80 with 5 days’ notice, Warrington £30, Stoke-on-Trent £45, Wrexham £60, Shropshire £135, Wirral £35.80 to £51.25 depending on skip size, Flintshire £75 (first week) + £25 per week after. See the road permit page for a full breakdown.
How quickly can you deliver a skip?
Next-day delivery is available across many Cheshire and North West postcodes when you book in business hours. Same-day delivery may also be possible depending on stock and route. Our team is on Monday to Friday 7am to 6pm and Saturday 7am to 1.30pm, and online bookings can be made any time through the booking hub.
Can I put plasterboard or asbestos in a general skip?
No. Both plasterboard and asbestos have to be kept separate from general waste under UK waste regulations. Plasterboard needs a separate skip or arrangement. Asbestos can only be disposed of in a specialist 12 yard asbestos skip and must be handled in line with current safety requirements. Mixing either with general waste leads to refused collection and additional charges.
What's the difference between a builder skip and a 12 yard enclosed skip?
A standard 8 yard builder skip holds around 80 bin bags by volume and is ideal for renovation rubble, hardcore and timber where waste is dense and heavy. A 12 yard enclosed skip holds around 100 to 120 bin bags, has a lid, and suits bulkier but lighter waste such as shop refits, site clearances and packaging where you want the load contained and protected from windblown litter.
Do you do same-day or weekend skip delivery?
Same-day delivery is possible on many postcodes when slots are available, and Saturday deliveries can be booked with the last slot before our 1.30pm Saturday close. Sunday and bank holiday deliveries aren’t standard – for urgent waste removal outside our hours, our grab hire service is often the faster route, especially for heavier muck-away loads. Speak to the team to check the fastest option for your job.
Which postcodes do you cover for skip hire?
Our skip hire delivery area covers Cheshire (CH and CW postcodes), the Wirral, Halton, Warrington (WA4, WA6, WA7, WA13, WA16), Macclesfield and Wilmslow (SK9, SK10, SK11), parts of Staffordshire (ST1, ST5, ST6, ST7, TF9), Shropshire (SY12, SY13, SY14) and North Wales (LL12, LL13). Enter your postcode in the quick quote tool for a confirmed price and delivery availability.
How long can I keep the skip?
The hire period is agreed at booking and can be arranged to suit your needs, with collection arranged when you’re ready – just give us a day’s notice for kerbside or driveway pick-up. If you need it longer (for instance, a multi-week renovation or staged site clearance), extensions are straightforward to arrange. Just keep in mind that permit durations vary by council if the skip is on the public road.
